Tessa Bielecki and I look forward to our upcoming retreat in Patagonia, Arizona. We will explore and celebrate desert landscape and spirituality and the power of poetry to help awaken us to wonder, compassion, and contemplative wisdom. Join us!
April 14-15: Homeland of the Heart:
Exploring Desert Landscape and Soulscape
Cady Hall at Patagonia Public Library
346 Duquesne Avenue, Patagonia, AZ 85624
What is the “homeland” of your heart?
Public Lecture: Friday, April 14, 6 pm
“The Desert and Poetry: Breathing Room for the Spirit”
Day of Retreat: Saturday, April 15, 9:30-3:30
Tessa and Dave explore desert and saguaro as “teachers,” the spirituality of the Desert Mothers and Fathers, and the value of poetry in our lives. Sessions will be practical and down to earth as well as poetic and help you create spaciousness in the hurly-burly of the world, breathing room for your spirit.
“Poetry is part of the fabric of the desert,
as much a part as sand and rock.”
David Jasper
The weekend will include ritual, silent meditation, writing practice, and time for group participation. On Saturday bring pen and paper and a small touchstone to place on the altar we will create. (You’ll take yours home again.)
